A chance encounter shatters a young man’s understanding of the world he was raised to inherit. In a society reshaped by infection, fear, and government control, his search for identity leads him into a hidden community bound by resilience, secrecy, and chosen family and forces him to confront the cost of choosing his own truth in a world determined to erase people like him.

This novel draws from my lived experience as a queer, HIV-positive person and from the many stories queer history has handed down to us. I wanted to write the kind of book I never saw growing up: one where queer identity, crisis, resilience, and community aren’t subplots but the beating heart of the story.
